Advance notice of intended public service contract for local public transport services in the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark

The district of Potsdam-Mittelmark, acting as the competent authority (§ 3(3) of the Brandenburg Local Public Transport Act in conjunction with § 8a(1), sentence 2 of the German Passenger Transport Act), intends to directly award a public service contract (PSC) for local public transport services by motor vehicles to regiobus Potsdam Mittelmark GmbH (the operator).

The intended PSC covers all local and regional public transport services within the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark. The contract refers to services within the meaning of § 8 of the German Passenger Transport Act (PBefG), including:

  1. scheduled services as defined in § 2(1), no. 3 in conjunction with § 42 PBefG

  2. special forms of scheduled services as defined in § 43 PBefG

  3. demand-responsive scheduled services as defined in § 44 PBefG

In accordance with Article 7(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1370/2007, the district has published a prior information notice in the EU Official Journal. This notice also defines the requirements for timetables, fares, and quality standards associated with the intended contract (§ 8a(2), sentence 3 PBefG).
