With its integrated climate action plan, the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark aims to strengthen climate protection in the long run. The plan is based on the 2012 guiding framework and has since been expanded to include additional fields of action. At its core is a catalogue of 44 targeted measures across seven action areas. These contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to the effects of climate change.
An accompanying monitoring programme helps the district council set priorities and track progress towards its climate goals. Through its actions, the district creates a positive impact on residents, businesses and the regional economy – for stronger climate protection and local value creation.
The Potsdam-Mittelmark District provides financial support for climate protection and climate adaptation measures. Municipalities, the agricultural sector, businesses, associations and private initiatives are supported in implementing actions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help adapt to climate change.
